A Tutor Who Truly Cares About Your Child

I began my teacher training in 2010 at Leeds Trinity University and was absolutely delighted to complete part of my placement at my own old primary school, right here in LS17. Working in EYFS and KS1 alongside the very teachers who had taught me was a truly special experience, and one that shaped the kind of teacher I wanted to become.

After qualifying, I went on to teach my own class for 10 years at another local school, working across KS1 and KS2. It was here that I really grew into my practice, building strong relationships with children and families and specialising in the Computing Curriculum alongside my core subjects.

During my time there, I worked closely with the PTA to raise funding for Smart Screens in every classroom, transforming the way teachers could engage and inspire their pupils. When the COVID pandemic hit, I led the school through the transition to online learning, getting the whole school set up digitally and training staff to deliver lessons confidently and effectively from home.

After having my two daughters, I moved to a local independent school where I now work as a Casual Teacher. This gives me the flexibility to be present for my girls while also doing something I am truly passionate about: tutoring.

Tutoring allows me to give children something that is so hard to find in a busy classroom: undivided attention, a pace that suits them, and a safe space to ask questions without hesitation.

I genuinely love what I do. There is nothing quite like seeing a child's face light up when something finally clicks, or watching a reluctant reader discover a book they cannot put down. I am so excited to work with your child and help them grow in confidence, ability, and a love of learning.
